We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give
Many sources incorrectly attribute this quote to Winston Churchill. But it doesn’t matter who said it first or when they said it. What matters is whether we believe it, stand by it and act on it!
Like any large organisation the Church of England’s finances are intricate and complex. The simple truth though is that St Thomas’ is a registered charity, does not rely on central funding for day to day affairs but still requires many tens of thousands of pounds to maintain each year. Additionally almost everyone with a role at St Thomas’ is a volunteer AND regularly gives to enable our church to continue its important role in our community. We are proud of our church, its heritage and its Grade I listing and want it to continue to be a focus for the town and people of Stourbridge.
There are a number of ways you can give and you can do this regularly, intermittently or as a single donation. Of course we’d much rather you were able to give regularly (and preferably by standing order) but we understand that’s not always possible.
Speak to a member of our Welcome Team at any of our services or pop cash or a cheque in to our collection box. If you’re able to Gift Aid, use the special white envelopes available in church to add your name and address.
