Welcome and thank you for visiting us. Because they are mixed communities, churches are hard to describe. You don’t really get to know one until you’re a part of it.
St Thomas’ Church wants to be a ‘Parish Church’. The ‘parish’ used to be an essential part of one’s identity. It was the village where you lived and it was where you belonged. We might not think of the place where we live in those terms today, but St Thomas’ wants to be the kind of Christian community in which all the people of Stourbridge might feel at home. This means we aim to be a diverse community and we’re open to ‘all sorts and conditions of men’ (and women) as the prayer book puts it. We’re building a community which is old and young, traditional and contemporary, loud and reflective, caring and joyful. We won’t judge you by your past, and we’ll hope and pray for your better future.
